Good Afternoon Gentle Readers…
As promised… I definitely don’t post “too much”. Not enough is much more accurate. So I thought I would take today to update some of the new happenings here at the Cabin.
Following up from Fall Market… our products are now carried both nationally and internationally. You can find us available for wholesale ordering through:
- Checker Distributors, USA
- Brewer Sewing Supply, USA
- Contemporary Sewing Materials, CANADA
For those Retail customers… you can purchase books, patterns and templates by clicking on our Online Store tab at the top of the website toolbar… or you can head over to Craftsy.com and purchase our patterns for online download. This saves you the cost of shipping and you get a little instant gratification. For those wanting to try out a pattern… I whipped up a quick little project available for FREE download… The Quilt Show Badge holder. There are quite a few quilt shows coming up… so make a little something special to match your outfit.
We are gearing up for the upcoming Lancaster Quilt Show @ the Continental Inn March 11-14, 2015. For more information check out our Events tab and click on the event. The show starts in a couple of weeks. If you are in town, stop by our booth and say hello. Get your copy of our newest book, What a Load of Scraps! Or you can pick up our newest templates…
- 60˚ Keychain Template
- Hexie Keychain Template
- Tumbler Keychain Template
- Charm Hexie Template
What’s a keychain template? Well… they are just the cutest little things you can imagine. They are little 2 – 2 1/2″ mini templates. You can use them with your scraps. They each come with their own little carabiner key ring and look like this:
The little 60˚ Keychain can be used separately or together with our Hexie Charm template to make your own Hexie Quilt. Or you can use the Hexie Charm by itself with Charms Squares or Jelly Rolls and create your own hexagons. Sew together with a set in seam… or lay them out on your own background fabrics and top-stitch in place.
Love these new templates so much. If you are looking for them at the show… or at your local quilt shop… look for our new packaging.
Our last bit of news… is the upcoming opening of our Quilting Cottage. The cabin has a beautiful 26″ Innova Longarm machine with AutoPilot and Lightening Stitch and over 2200+ patterns available for machine quilting. We have decided to move this machine out of its retail location where it’s rented daily and back to the cabin so it can be close to home. Opening in March 2015… Cabin in the Woods now has a “Cottage in the Woods” and will be machine quilting and renting time. Here is a glimpse of our new location.
You can follow the transformation of the cottage on our Facebook page. It will be 300 square feet of comfortable rental space where you can come and take a one-on-one class to get your “Autopilot’s license” and learn to quilt it yourself. While here… you can work on a binding, bring your latest sewing project to stitch, sit and read or watch a little Netflix and catch up on your favorite show. Bring a lunch and have some peace and quiet.
Not interested in quilting it yourself? Drop it off and we will get it done for you. With over 2200 patterns to choose from we have plenty of options for finishing your latest masterpiece. We will have limited backings and battings available for sale if you need them. For those wishing to get on the rental list… contact us now via email and get a 20% off coupon for your first rental or quilting service now through the end of March.
We are hoping to be able to offer one-on-one quilting classes if you are interested in learning this new craft. Classes will be offered by appointment. Keep watching the website, blog, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter for more info.
Back to work. We are creating new projects and patterns right now. See y’all in Lancaster.
