Welcome to our All-Inclusive Getaways
Looking for a little break from the grind? Join us for ALL-INCLUSIVE weekend quilting getaway at Lake Gaston. Cabin Quilters hosts a 3-night quilting retreat at beautiful Lake Gaston, NC. The retreat center is fully equipped for quilters. Just bring your sewing machine and your latest project and we will provide the rest. Accommodations based on double occupancy. Most guest bedrooms have a sunrise view of Lake Gaston. Price includes room, all meals and snacks, wine and cheese mixer on check in day, project kit and/or class, and plenty of goodies. Our goal is that you don’t have to lift a finger to do anything but sew while you are here.
The retreat is all about you. We want to pamper you while you are here so there is no need to concern yourself with making meals. Bring your UFOs and work on your own project or work on our project kit while you are here. Need a break from quilting? No worries… there is plenty of quiet deck space one our Main Sundeck or our shaded Lakeside Lounge to enjoy a great book or stroll down to the boathouse to hang out by the water. Catch site of some turtles, loons, osprey or heron while you sew one of your oldest UFOs. Catch up with friends or make some new ones. Take a dip in the HotTub to sooth your muscles after a long day of sewing.
A mini pop up quilt shop is provided by CabinQuilters, or you can opt for a trip to Sherry’s Sew What, our local quilt shop in Henrico, NC. CabinQuilters can also provide a full quilt kit for you to work on while attending. Reach out directly for details. A group project, kit and instruction are included for all retreats that aren’t special events. It is your choice to participate.
While the retreat is not fully handicap accessible, we do make accommodations for minor mobility issues and have an elevator for traveling between our three levels. This prevents the need of carrying machines and luggage up and down our main staircase.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I have to share a room even if I am a single?
Per person rates are based on double occupancy in each room. However, no guest will have to share a BED with another guest. We often have singles rooming with other singles on the trip and have never had guests complain (knock wood). Our job is to make everyone feel comfortable and at home and we ask that all guests be respectful of one another’s general needs. This is often the place where new friendships are formed. Take a chance and feel free to come and visit as a single.
Are you able to accommodate special dietary needs?
Our contract has a place to indicate any special dietary needs. While we may NOT be able to accommodate extreme allergies or a vegan diet, we do our best to provide necessary meals that will work for everyone. If we have a special retreater, we can make a plan ahead of time to make sure that our special guest is comfortable and has ample foods to meet their dietary needs. Please feel free to reach out directly to discuss any concerns at any time.
Do I need to bring my sewing machine to this event?
Guests should plan to attend the retreat with their own sewing machine, sewing projects and a small kit of supplies for the weekend. We do have a few new classroom machines that can be rented for the duration of your stay for $35 and can be provided upon request. We do NOT provide machines for all retreaters.
Do I need to bring linens or supplies, food or snacks to the retreat?
We provide all linens for the retreat and laundry service. You will not need to bring those. All food, drink and snacks are provided during your stay as well as a limited selection of wine for our first evening social. You may bring additional snacks if you would like as well as any specialty items that you would like. Please keep in mind that refrigerator space is at a premium during your stay so try not to bring too many items that need refrigeration. Feel free to bring items to share as well. Make a note of any ingredients so we can keep guests safe.
How do I sign up?
Fill out the above form and click on the event you are interested in. Provide the necessary contact information. Make a note of the open registration date. On the date of open registration, a contract and invoice will be sent to your email provided. Fill out and sign the contract electronically and pay your deposit. If you are planning to attend with a friend, please have your friend sign up on the waitlist as well so that you can assure you are both sent a contract.
