It’s the time of year again. Holiday parties, gift buying, wrapping and carols (if you celebrate Christmas), and tons of Christmas movies. For me, I’m finishing up lots of projects, cleaning the house in preparation for the college boys to come back home and searching for the perfect gift(s) for everyone on our list.

My life is full of college kids that come home broke and still need things. As much as I would love the find them the perfect gift, sometimes what they really need is a gift card. Gift cards can feel very impersonal to the gift giver but that gas card could mean an extra trip to visit home. That GC to Walmart could mean a few more groceries or much needed meds.

Snowman Gift Card Holders and ornaments from the Holiday Hexie Ornaments Pattern

Holiday Hexie Ornaments

If you are looking for a great way to dress up a gift card this Holiday Season, try making a few our Snowman GC holders from our Holiday Hexie Ornaments pattern. They look really adorable hanging on the tree, and with the addition of a small pocket on the back, they can hold your favorite GC or a few stray bills for the older kids that are feeling a little strapped for the winter break.

The pattern also contains ornaments and holders for some of your favorite holidays including Easter and Valentine’s Day, or a back-to-school gift for your favorite teacher.
